The Doyen of Pharmaceutical Education and Research and a Padma Shri recipient Prof. Harkishan Singh was a PhD from Banaras Hindu University, India, and DSc (h.c) from USciences, PA, USA and Panjab University, Chandigarh, India. He published 125 original scientific research papers. With 14 patents he has been successful in designing a drug candocuronium iodide (INN) (chandonium iodide, HS-310), a synthetic azasteroid. Has over 350 publications including 19 books. recognized through his election to the Academie Internationale d' Histoire de la Pharmacie. Prof. Singh had a dominant role in establishing and structuring NIPER (National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research) at SAS Nagar, Punjab, India under Government of India (MOCF) where is located the Prof. Harkishan Singh Archival Collection with over 1713 Volumes on Pharmaceutical developments in India of last couple of centuries, available under one roof. A nonagenarian, Professor Singh’s contribution in chronicling the History of Pharmacy in India, is unparalleled.

It is with great pleasure that effective 08/34/2023 is formed “Professor Harkishan Singh Foundation” by his daughter Dr. Manjeet Kaur, Harnder S. Panaser (son-in-law), Ajooni G. Kaur and Alicia H Kaur (granddaughters). This foundation will exclusively provide scholarships to students in financial needs and help the needy as a charity. The funds will be provided by the state of Professor 08arkishan Singh, under the section 501(C)(3) off the Internal Revenue Services.
